The remarkable fan-vaulted ceiling of Bath Abbey, in Gloucestershire, England. Fan vaulting is a specifically English type of architecture. The Bath Abbey ceiling was constructed in 1608 and restored in 1860. It incorporares various armorial designs, including an early 17th century version of the Royal Coat of Arms on the right of this image.
